The LAPD Youth Foundation Board of Directors represents individuals that are passionate about making a difference in the lives of inner-city youth. Such Board members are concerned about the current chain of events and a deteriorating society that is ultimately rooted that social injustice and below-poverty levels causing inner-city youth to pursue what they believe is their only option by default – a life of crime.

It is the mission of the Board of Directors to make a difference and change the future of our society by making a difference in the lives of inner-city youth before they enter a life of crime. Once they enter a life of crime, it is very unlikely that they will ever get out. Saving the life of one child from a life of crime means that hundreds of lives will be saved as the inner-city youth will ultimately kill or be killed at some point in their life of gang membership and crime. They will use resources and City and State budgets only to be incarcerated and will have a future that is dark and heartbreaking.

Board Members of the LAPD Youth Foundation demonstrate their commitment to this meaningful mission by direct board contribution of $25,000 per year in addition to raising additional monies through contacts and relationships. Board Members meet once a month at LAPD headquarters in DTLA (or via virtual meetings if necessary) to participate and contribute their ideas to better assist the organization in strategizing on how the Youth Foundation can be more successful in achieving its goals. It is about making a difference in the lives of thousands of inner-city youth. The board members are passionate about making a difference today and in the future. The future are our kids – we must not let them down.
